Smoke Detectors

A house smoke detector will alert you to unsafe conditions due to fire and can serve as an early warning system to help save both lives and property.

  • Ultra-Sensitive Sensor: Prevents false alarms while continuously monitoring for smoke.
  • Heat Detection: Identifies rapid temperature increases from fires, even without smoke, for advanced warning.
  • Flexible Mounting: Compatible with wall and ceiling installation to suit any home setup.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Our detectors provide effective alerts when there’s a dangerous accumulation of carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas released by many household appliances.

  • High-Risk Protection: Ideal for homes with fuel-burning appliances, like stoves and furnaces, that emit CO.
  • Built-in Alarm: Sounds an alarm from the device while also sending an alert to the panel siren.
  • 24/7 CO Monitoring: Continuously monitors levels of carbon monoxide gas to keep you safe.

Water Leak Detectors

With a water leak detector, also known as a flood sensor, detect water leaks in high-risk areas of the home, including washers, water heaters, under sinks, and in the basement before they cause damage.

  • Durable Design: Operates in a wide temperature range (14–122°F) and high humidity (5–95%).
  • Wide Signal Range: 600-foot wireless range ensures reliable communication from anywhere in your home.
  • Compact Size: Small and discreet, a water sensor fits easily in tight spaces.

Southern Home Security can not be…

Southern Home Security can not be trusted. As a technician, I have worked in the industry since 2020 and I have never seen such poor leadership. They will send out the tech to do work but find a reason to keep the money for themselves. Customer accounts had wrong names, telephone numbers and improper equipment. Any mistakes or problems, the technician is liable. Promises are made to get what they want and when it sounds too good to be true, you can believe it is. I highly recommend avoiding Southern Home Security at all costs.

Why are carbon monoxide detectors important?

Carbon monoxide detectors are critical because they alert you to the presence of carbon monoxide, an invisible, odorless gas that’s poisonous to people and pets. Early detection allows you to evacuate the area and seek help before the gas reaches dangerous levels.

Should you have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors?

Yes, having both smoke and carbon monoxide detectors is essential. Smoke detectors alert you to fires, while carbon monoxide detectors warn of gas leaks from appliances like heaters and stoves. Together, they provide comprehensive protection against two major household hazards.

Why should houses have heat detectors?

Southern Home Security smoke detectors feature rapid rise heat detection. In addition to alerting you to the presence of smoke, heat detection can indicate other dangerous conditions, providing a more comprehensive safety net as part of an effective fire alarm system for home.

How is a water leak detector used?

Water leak detectors can be used in various ways to protect homes and properties. They can be placed in basements, near water heaters, or under sinks to detect leaks early. Even trusted brands, such as Kohler or Moen fixtures, can become damaged and leak over time. Water sensors for leak detection should be installed in areas that are prone to flooding to provide early warnings. Additionally, they can be integrated with smart home systems to send alerts to your phone, ensuring timely awareness.
